"Ports, Customs and Free Zone" organizes a Blood Donation Campaign in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority, organized a blood donation campaign on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, which falls on June 14 of each year, at its headquarters in Port Rashid, Dubai.
His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, stated that the Corporation's participation in community and humanitarian events affirms its keenness to enhance the concept of participation and social responsibility to contribute to helping others, instill human values and love of volunteering and develop the spirit of giving among employees, indicating that the campaign came from a belief in the importance of achieving the principles of cooperation, participation and responsibility, given that donating blood is a humanitarian duty that contributes to saving lives and restoring hope for life for a large number of patients.
Bin Sulayem confirmed that the campaign had received a response from a large number of employees from various departments and business units of the PCFC, as well as the participation of customers. He added that their participation reflects their deep sense of responsibility towards society and the needy groups, which reflects the success of the PCFC efforts and its constant endeavor to be an effective element that serves the various groups of society.
He added: "The campaign was not limited to donating blood only, but also included sending educational messages to employees about the health and humanitarian benefits of blood donation, as it is one of the most important reasons that contribute to saving the lives of many by securing stocks of supplies for the special needs of medical and research centers, as well as its role in preserving health of blood donors.
The Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation stated that the corporation, within its plans and programs in the field of social responsibility, is keen to consolidate the principles and foundations of humanitarian and charitable work in accordance with the wise leadership approach that supports human fraternity initiatives and community solidarity activities, explaining that the blood donation campaign is one of those programs that come within this year’s agenda in the file of social responsibility, and it embodies the humanitarian aspect of the UAE community along with many other community initiatives that meet the directions of the PCFC’s strategic plan 2021-2025.
